If you've been with us for a few years, you know we usually dedicate a post on our blog to the internship application process. Well, looks a little different than what you're used to, right?
As the seasons change, as days turn weeks and then to months, we change. We grow as individuals, a team, and our dreams get bigger and bolder.
"What does that mean?"
It means we open up our arms to more creative souls driven by purpose. We create an application process that is as unique, and nontraditional, as we are. One where we can better learn who you are and how you'd fit into our future.
"Okay, what's in this for me?"
We're glad you asked, and we won't sugarcoat it. We don't make a dime from doing this so yes, it is unpaid and it's not for school credit. But, what we teach you is priceless. We develop your wellness routine, networking skills, and career direction while building self confidence in your worth. We show you how to build your personal brand, create content, build community, and teach you a whole lot of life lessons along the way too.
You get the gist, right? We're in the business of developing people.
Now, take a look at the positions below. Read them from left to right. Then, choose your best fit. Choose the direction you want to go. The application form is below the positions with a few more disclaimers. Take this chance on yourself. We're rooting for you.
And, we don't want to hear after applications have closed about how you didn't try because you were afraid, because you're not good enough. You are good enough. Do this to show your fear who's boss because the bigger the dream, the scarier it can be.
A few disclaimers before you apply:
The deadline for applications is Monday, September 18th at 9 PM EST.
We will announce our new team to the public on October 2nd but final decisions will be made and sent out on Saturday, September 23rd.
The blogger position is available to all. As in, we are open to you whether you identify with a specific gender, or not. We open our arms to you if you a part of our LGBTQ community. We love the color of your skin, the way your hair grows, and respect how you choose to live your life.
The other three positions: journalist, community outreach, and editorial assistant; are exclusively available for our ladies. Again, no discrimination when it comes to your race or sexuality.
If you are under the age of 18, we will need a signed letter of approval from your guardian or parents. We want your parents to know you are working in a safe space, with people who also want what's best for you.
Please make sure the subject of the email is your "First Name Last Name F/W 2017 Internship."
These are remote positions so you do not need to be a local to Charlotte, NC to apply. That's just a bonus if you ever want to have coffee with the boss lady!
