With a name fit for a superhero, it’s no surprise that Heart Defensor has quickly become a favorite in the beauty guru community. From “get ready with me” videos to hair tutorials, her bubbly personality and easy tricks have attracted subscribers from all over the world.
After attending a Beautylish event in November 2010 and becoming friends with the beauty gurus in attendance, Heart began her very own YouTube channel. Her channel, known as ThatsHeart, quickly gained popularity through other vloggers and word-of-mouth. Today, she has over 1.7 million subscribers eagerly awaiting her next beauty video. She also gives viewers a glimpse into her everyday life on her vlog channel, ThatsHeartTV.
Before starting YouTube, Heart was born and raised in the Philippines. She later moved to Los Angeles, California during her junior year of high school. It was at this point where she bought her first eyeliner and discovered her passion for all things beauty.
At the start of her YouTube career, Heart was studying nursing while also working for a real estate company. However, after about a year and a half after launching her channel, her videos gained more popularity and she was able to turn YouTube into her full-time job.
Thanks to her YouTube channel and growing audience, Heart has also been able to accomplish some incredible things within the beauty/fashion world. She has been featured in magazines including Teen Vogue and Los Angeles magazine. In 2014, she was also featured in a series on Seventeen’s YouTube channel called Fashion Remix where she helped young girls revamp their wardrobes with three key pieces. That same year, she also launched a eyeshadow and blush palette with BH Cosmetics. In 2015, she also partnered up with Garnier Fructis to showcase some quick and easy hairstyles using their products.
Aside from YouTube, Heart is currently engaged to fellow YouTuber Arnold Telagaarta. In 2014, Arnold popped the question after the two had been together for eight years. You can watch the proposal here. The two are also parents to a dog named Junior and two cats, Barry Allen and Blake.
